Community Data
Santa Rosa is located about 50 miles north of San Francisco in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County. The rugged California coast is a mere 30 miles west of Santa Rosa. One of the premier wine-growing areas in the world, Sonoma County viticulture and high-tech manufacturing dominate the center of trade. Cultural opportunities abound from the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, to the Spreckels Performing Arts Center and the Santa Rosa Symphony. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy boundless parks and trails from the Sonoma Coast State Park and Armstrong Redwoods State Park to the west, to Spring Lake, Annadel Park, and Sugarloaf Ridge State Park to the east. A moderate climate year-round makes Sonoma County an ideal place to live and raise families!
School
Founded in 1967, SRCS is a K-12 independent, interdenominational, private Christian school. The school serves 203 students taught by a committed, professional faculty of 23. Our school is rich in tradition and has won numerous academic, athletic and social service awards.

Calendar
36 weeks: 4 Quarters, 2 Semesters.
Grades K-5: self-contained classes.
Middle School is grades 6-8 and is on a modified block schedule.
High School is on a block schedule.
Mission
Santa Rosa Christian School is dedicated to providing an educational program which honors God through academic excellence, is taught from a Biblical worldview and trains leaders to serve God, their community and others.

Curricular Distinctives
Santa Rosa Christian School’s History and English programs focus on intensive study of the great writings, people, events, works, and ideas that have formed civilization as we know it. Emphasis is placed on classical works of our culture within their historical settings. SRCS science classes use a lab-based curriculum where students perform routine hands-on science experiments – furthering their understanding and love for the sciences. Languages Other Than English (LOTE) begins in elementary classes with Spanish. To enhance our rigorous college program, SRCS offers honors courses in English and Mathematics. Besides strong academics, Santa Rosa Christian School offers a variety of electives and sports. Drama, Choir, Band, Robotics and Art are just some of the electives students can enjoy during their years at SRCS. SRCS’ competitive sports program, boasting several state and national awards, includes cross country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, and track. Our elementary competitive sports program includes soccer, volleyball, and basketball.

Class Rank
Class Rank is determined by computing the cumulative GPA in grades 9-12. Class Ranks are reported to those colleges that request it.
SAT Summary
Each year all students in 1st – 7th grades take the Stanford Achievement Test. All students in grades 8th & 9th grades take the Explore test and all 10th grade students take the Plan test. The testing for 8th – 10th grades assesses not only students’ knowledge but also college readiness. All 10th – 11th grade students are required to take the PSAT test. All junior and senior students are strongly encouraged to take the ACT and SAT test.
